Snowball Block Tutorial

What's a Snowball Block? It's any block that has the 4 corners cut off at a 45 degree angle. ...
that's the tricky part..They just LOOK like they are cut off at a 45 degree angle!
Let me walk you through it step by step.

Take one block. This one is made up of 5 pieces, but is essentially an 8" square. In order to make the corners look like they are at 45 degrees you will need 4, 2" squares.

Press the 2" square in half diagonally. Or, you can draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the fabric.
Lay your 2" square RST onto the 8" square, lining up at the corners.Line up your presser foot on the pressed or drawn line. Stitch. This is a great block to do chain piecing with. You'll have all your corners sewn on in no time!

TA DA..you've completed all 4 corners...press the corners to the outer edge.

Trim the corner seams to 1/4". The block is complete.

Now you can set them into your favorite design and make a quilt. Look at all those snowball blocks....whew....there were a lot of them! The pattern is our own Mulberry Lane...
you can find it in the SASH GALS shop.

Relax, these little guys are fun and easy to make. They melt right into another fabric....
see, no tricks - just pretty cool construction.

Have a great week!  We're off to Portland for Spring Quilt Market .
I will be posting pictures when I get back. Can't wait to show you what's new this Spring - Stay tuned.

  4. I know, I see this all of the time when people produce stories of "superheroes", lol.
1st, they produce the unbeatable super-character, then they understand
it really is much more interesting if the poor men aren't so straightforward to defeat.
Let's see, according to his powers, it is possible to in no way sneak up on or shock
him, he can transfer so quick you can not even see or monitor him, he can split any material, cannot be damaged himself, can soften something the sunshine could soften (which is
something as the sunshine breaks aside atoms) and may
just shoot these laser beams from his eyes to any distance, does not need air, nourishment, rest, etc.
, and impervious to radiation, illness, and so forth. Only
certain items even sluggish him down but he has
no protection towards magic. Kryptonite kills him, but how it is possible to even get it
near him with all his powers I do not know.
He’s supposed to be super intelligent as well so putting it in a
lead box trick shouldn't perform lol.
